Fondo de Cultura Económica is an editorial institution created by the Mexican government to edit, produce, commercialize, and promote works of national, Ibero-American and universal culture through our own distribution networks and those of others, here in Mexico and abroad.
Our actions are geared towards the creation, dissemination, and discussion of values and ideas, as well as the education of all readers, students, and professionals.
Upon founding this publishing house, our initial purpose was to disseminate fundamental economic texts. But it was not long before we realized that our parameters should be extended to all fields of knowledge, on a national and international scale. We have thus reaffirmed Mexican culture in all disciplines, while remaining, at the same time, attentive and receptive to ideas from around the world ...
FCE will continue to be a publishing house fundamental to the discussion and generation of ideas in different areas of knowledge. Our actions will contribute in an ongoing fashion to the consolidation of regional identity and the integration of a public, cultural, and scientific Ibero-American agenda in the broadest social sense, for the benefit of people of all ages.
